DU, Fudan University discuss dual degree programme on AI

A 7-member delegation led by Dr. Chen Zhimin, Vice-President of Fudan University, China, met with Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam at his office on Tuesday.
The two sides discussed launching a joint 'dual degree programme ' on Artificial Intelligence between DU and Fudan University. The Chinese delegation highlighted an interest in hosting visiting fellows from DU to strengthen academic collaboration in AI governance. They also explored joint research initiatives, academic publications, and teacher-student exchanges, agreeing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon to finalize the cooperation.
Welcoming the initiative, VC Dr. Obaidul Islam highlighted Bangladesh's long-standing relationship with China and requested scholarships for DU students to pursue higher education at Fudan University. High-level representatives from both institutions—including DU Center for China Studies Director Prof. Dr. Md. Rakibul Haque and Confucius Institute Director Dr. Yong Hui—were also present during the meeting.
