Campus Desk

The Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) Mars Rover Team has achieved a remarkable milestone at the international space robotics competition, the Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC) 2026, held in Ankara, Turkey.

Competing among twenty finalist teams, GUB secured the 6th position and earned the prestigious "Most Resilient Team" honor in recognition of their exceptional perseverance, strong morale under adverse conditions, and unique team spirit.

The international competition took place from July 29 to August 1, 2026, drawing university and research institute students from around the globe. Out of more than forty international teams that initially entered, only twenty advanced through a rigorous selection process to reach the finals. Representing Bangladesh among the world's best, the Green University team showcased the capability of the nation's young engineers and innovators on a global stage.

During the event, participating teams faced complex challenges modeled after realistic space missions. They were evaluated on rover design, autonomous operation, technical proficiency, problem-solving capabilities, and team coordination. University authorities noted that this achievement reflects Bangladesh's growing potential in higher education, engineering, and technology-driven learning.

The university expressed sincere gratitude to US-Bangla Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Walton for their support, while also acknowledging the ongoing encouragement from advisors, faculty members, mentors, the administration, current students, alumni, and well-wishers.
