Japanese delegation meets DU VC : Discussion on management of 'Clean Dhaka Campaign'

A two-member delegation led by Mr. Jumpei Taniguchi, Deputy Director of Japan's largest student volunteer organization, 'International Volunteer University Student Association', met with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam at his office on Monday,
Another member of the delegation was Mr. Koyo Tokuriki, a student representative from Ritsumeikan University, Japan.
Acting Director of the Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University, Professor Mohammad Absar Kamal and Dr. Md. Monir Uddin were present at the event.
During the meeting, the members of the delegation expressed their interest in conducting the 'Clean Dhaka Campaign' from 1 February 2027 to 8 February 2027 with the participation of 30 students from various universities in Japan. In addition, they expressed their desire to work jointly with the teachers and students of Dhaka University to create environmental awareness among the public. They also discussed the possibility of undertaking joint education and research activities between Dhaka University and various universities in Japan to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan. The issue of organizing seminars, symposiums and cultural programs jointly by Dhaka University and various universities in Japan also came up for discussion.
