Melandah (Jamalpur) Correspondent
Md. Mirazul Islam, the Jamalpur Science and Technology University (JSTU) correspondent for Channel 24 and Jamalpur News 24, has been honoured with the 'Investigative Journalist of the Year 2025–26' award for his courageous contributions to campus reporting.
JSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Amir Hossain handed over the crest at the university’s academic building during the "Journalist Award 2025–26" distribution ceremony following a workshop on journalism, MoJo, and AI reporting. The event was organized by the JSTU Journalists' Association and the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) recently.
Mirazul was recognized for exposing a campus recruitment syndicate involving alleged fund embezzlement. Unfazed by threats, his investigative report prompted administrative action and accountability. This marks his second major recognition, having previously won the 'Journalist of the Year 2024' award.
Four other journalists were also recognized in various categories: Md. Belal Hossain (Digital Media), Yasir Arafat (Print Media), Muslim Ibn Rabi (Feature Writer), and Md. Naimur Rahman (Emerging Journalist). JSTU Proctor Dr. Mohammad Shadiqur Rahman and IQAC Additional Director Dr. Muhammad Shahjalal attended as special guests along with media professionals and university officials.
