
DU prioritizing development of research culture : VC
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, the development of a research culture at the university is being given the highest priority. To this end, various initiatives, including the organization of training workshops, are being taken consistently. He noted that the implementation of these activities will enable the university to achieve its core objectives.
He made these remarks on Tuesday while addressing the closing ceremony of a 16-day workshop titled "Workshop on Research Methodology", held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building for teachers, researchers, and students of the university. The workshop was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Dhaka University.
The closing ceremony was presided over by IQAC Director Prof Dr. M. Rezaul Islam. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha and Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury were present as special guests. The program was conducted by Additional Director Prof Dr. Md. Saiful Alam, while the welcome speech was delivered by Additional Director Prof Dr. Md. Waheduzzaman.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that the university has many renowned researchers and faculty members. Individually, they are conducting high-quality research. In order to recognize and institutionalize these research activities and to encourage researchers, multiple initiatives are being undertaken. He sought everyone’s cooperation in implementing these initiatives.
About 300 teachers, researchers, and students from various faculties participated in the 16-day workshop. At the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed among the participants.
