
Chatra Dal activist expelled at SUST

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) authority has temporarily expelled a Chatra Dal activist named Sheikh Fakabbir Sin for allegedly
attempting to enter a hall room and committed an attack on Wednesday afternoon.
The university proctor, Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Proctor Mokhlesur Rahman said, based on the investigation report, the disciplinary committee recommended expulsion against Fakabbir as the allegations were proven.
Then, at the 236th meeting of the syndicate on May 17, a decision was taken to temporarily expel him.Sheikh Fakabbir Sin is a student of the Department of Oceanography from the
2022-23 academic year. He lived in a mess in the Surma residential area adjacent to the university. Additionally, he is known on campus as a supporter of Nayem
Sarkar, the general secretary of the Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal, SUST branch.
Earlier, on the night of January 5, Chhatra Dal activist Sheikh Fakabbir Sin was accused of entering room number 436 of SUST’s Shahparan Hall and holding a
knife to the throat of students staying there. On January 9, the university authoritya four-member investigation committee with Students Counseling and
Guidance Director Md. Ashaque Mia as the convener to look into the allegations.
