In recognition of their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements, nine meritorious students of Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall at Dhaka University have been awarded the Provost Award. 

Among the awardees, six students received the honor for achieving the highest CGPA in undergraduate (honors) exams, while two were recognized for securing the highest CGPA in postgraduate exams. Additionally, one student was awarded for exceptional performance in sports.

The awards were handed over by Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, at a ceremony held in the hall auditorium on the evening of Wednesday. 

The event was presided over by the Hall Provost Prof Dr. Muhammad Javed Hossain. Notable guests included Prof Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences; Prof  Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Dean of Earth and Environmental Sciences; and Prof  Dr. Upama Kabir, Dean of Engineering and Technology. The welcome speech was delivered by Prof  Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan, Assistant House Tutor and Convener of the Provost Award Committee.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the awardees and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in motivating students. He noted that the university continually strives to recognize the merit of teachers, researchers, and students through various programs. He encouraged the students to remain united and work for the betterment of the country.

Award recipients are Md. Tahidul Islam (Oceanography),Zahur Ahmed (Geology), Moh Soleiman (Geology) Md. Ehsanul Haque Mamun (Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering), Kamruzzaman Asif (Institute of Information Technology), Md. Istiaq Uddin (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Piyal Sarkar (Pharmaceutical Technology) Md. Aminul Kader Bulbul (Computer Science and Engineering) and Muhammad Azizul Haque (Microbiology)

This recognition not only honours individual excellence but also reflects the academic spirit and diverse talents nurtured at Dhaka University.
