Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian drugs worth Tk 9,19,500 in two separate operations along the Kushtia border and detained a young man in connection with the recovery.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) on Wednesday, September 2.
According to the BGB, acting on specific intelligence, a patrol team of West Dharmadah Border Outpost (BOP) conducted an operation in its designated border area at around 10:30pm on Tuesday.

During the operation, the patrol team recovered five bottles of Indian liquor and 3,000 pieces of Cyproheptadine tablets from West Dharmadah field. The drugs were found abandoned at the spot.
The estimated seizure value of the recovered drugs is Tk 9,07,500, according to the BGB.

In a separate operation, based on specific and reliable intelligence, another BGB patrol team from Jamalpur BOP conducted a raid in the Jamalpur Kandir Para area at around 10:00am on Wednesday.

During the operation, the team detained Md. Sujon Mondal, 27, son of Kinar Mondal, of Jamalpur Kandir Para village under Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia.

The BGB team recovered 40 pieces of Indian Tapentadol tablets from his possession. The estimated seizure value of the recovered drugs is Tk 12,000.
In the two separate operations, BGB personnel recovered Indian drugs worth a total of Tk 9,19,500 and detained one person.

Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) said it remains vigilant and active to prevent the infiltration and smuggling of drugs through the border. Regular patrols and operations are being conducted in different areas based on intelligence information.
