 Dhaka Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate Farida Khanam has issued strict directives to field-level officers to ensure that no citizen falls victim to harassment, corruption, or broker exploitation while seeking land services.

She made these remarks on Tuesday during an exchange meeting held with Assistant Commissioners (Land), Union Land Assistant Officers, and Deputy Assistant Officers in the District Commissioner’s conference room.

Addressing the officials, Farida Khanam emphasized that citizens visit land offices to receive services from the state, not from any individual, making the provision of seamless service both a duty and a moral obligation for public servants. Reaffirming a "zero tolerance" policy against corruption, she stressed the urgent need to resolve all land-related services, including mutational clearances and khatian issuances, within stipulated timeframes.

Directing offices to remain completely free of brokers, the District Commissioner warned that severe administrative and legal action would be taken if allegations of bribery, irregularities, withholding files, or serving through brokers are proven. She also laid special emphasis on treating service-seekers with empathy and human dignity.

Success in land development tax collection: The meeting disclosed that for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, the general land development tax collection target for Dhaka district was set at Tk 84,70,72,280. In response, actual collection reached Tk 93,68,40,786, achieving 110.6% of the set goal.

Moreover , revenue realization reached Tk 26,11,11,160 in institutional land development tax and Tk 8,76,86,125 in vested property lease money. The District Commissioner expressed her gratitude and thanks to the Assistant Commissioners (Land), tehsildars, and all field-level officials for attaining this success.
