'Tiger Run' marathon at JU : Russel, Shyamoli crowned champions

A marathon titled "Tiger Run" was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Tuesday to mark World Tiger Day, drawing around 200 student participants. Flagged off at 6:00 am from the university's Central Shaheed Minar, the event was organized by the Youth Volunteer Alliance, Jahangirnagar University.
In the men's category, Russel Mahmud clinched the championship, while Keingpre Mro and Mansur Ahmed finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively. In the women's category, Shyamoli Das won the title, with Puja Rani and Sabikun Nahar securing the first and second runner-up positions. All race finishers received medals and breakfast, while the top three in each division were awarded crests.
The prize-giving ceremony at the Central Shaheed Minar was chaired by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan. State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque attended as the chief guest, emphasizing that running fosters discipline and ethics, while urging public vigilance in protecting wildlife and biodiversity. University administrators and guest delegates were also present.
