Two days after a teenager was hacked to death in Begumganj, Noakhali, RAB-11 has arrested the sixth accused in case.

RAB said that teenager Marwan Hossain Bijoy (18) was killed after he rescued a man from the clutches of terrorists who were beating him in the Notun Bridge area of Sharifpur Union of the upazila.

RAB-11 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police and Company Commander (Acting) Mithun Kumar Kundu confirmed this information in a press release on Monday (October 6) morning. Earlier, the arrest was made from the Begumganj Bus Stand area of the upazila around 12:45 am on Sunday.

The arrested Shafayet Hossain Saikat (20) is the son of Shahidullah of Purba Eklashpur village, ward number 2 of Eklashpur union of the upazila.

The murder took place at around 10 pm on October 3 in the Kalla Market area of the upazila.

The deceased was the son of Shahin Chowdhury, a member of Robi family of Hajipur village in Bijoy upazila.

The press release said that the arrested Saikat is an active terrorist of the same area's notorious Delwar Bahini. A few days ago, when terrorists beat up an innocent man in the Notun Bridge area of Sharifpur Union, Bijoy rescued the innocent man from them. Then the terrorists got angry with the victim and started looking for him with the intention of killing him. In continuation of this, last Friday night, the victim was stopped and arrested in the Kalla Market area of the upazila. At one stage, Bijoy's body was hacked to death in more than three hundred places. In this incident, the victim's sister Shahanaz Akter Suborna filed a murder case with Begumganj Police Station as the plaintiff.

RAB-11 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police and Company Commander (Acting) Mithun Kumar Kundu also said that the accused in the case are absconding since the incident. One accused was arrested based on secret information. The arrested accused has been handed over to Begumganj Police Station.
