A teenager named Wasim (13) was killed in a lightning strike in Ulukandi village of Kalapahariya union in Araihazar, Narayanganj on Sunday afternoon. He is the son of Dila Mia of the village.
Locals said that at the time of the incident, he was sitting in a shop some distance from his house. When it suddenly started raining, he came out of the shop and ran towards his house. At that time, he was struck by lightning on the way and died on the spot.
Locals said that when he was rescued and sent to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex to find out if his death was confirmed, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
