A meeting was held between the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Ms. Sumani Akhter, and journalists from various electronic and print media working in Natore.
On Saturday at 3:30 pm in the conference room of the Natore Deputy Commissioner, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Md. Sumani Akhter.

Journalists from various media outlets working in the district participated in the exchange of views.
At the meeting, journalists expressed their opinions and suggestions on the overall development of Natore district, existing problems, prospects and what can be done to alleviate public suffering.

The discussion raised various important issues of public interest, including improving the law and order situation in the district, crime control, prevention of drugs and various social problems.

In particular, the issues of conserving the biodiversity and fisheries of Chalan Beel, one of the largest wetlands in the country, preventing unbridled fishing, protecting the environment of the beel, and conserving agricultural land were discussed with great importance. Journalists also expressed their opinions on protecting agricultural land in the agriculturally-dominated Natore district, preventing environmental pollution, ensuring transparency and accountability in various government services, and taking effective initiatives to reduce the suffering of the common people.

The meeting was addressed by Natore Press Club President Shahidul Haque Sarkar, former President Faraji Ahmed Rafiq Baban, Joint General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Tutul, NTV's Halim Khan, Somoy Television's Al Mamun, United Press Club President Nasim Uddin Nasim and General Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Unique Press Club President Debashish Kumar, General Secretary Bulbul Ahmed and Prothom Alo Muktar Hossain, Daily Desh Panthur, Abdul Hakim and representatives of various media outlets. The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Md. Sumoni Akhter listened to the statements of the journalists attentively.

He emphasized the mutual cooperation between the administration and media workers in solving various problems related to the development and public interest of Natore district and also expressed the hope that all concerned would work together for the development, good governance and welfare of the common people of the district.
