Across the horizon in the open field of Tajumuddin Upazila in Bhola, the golden dream of the farmer swings.
The dream of the farmer's blood-drenched life, the golden grain of rice surrounded by greenery.
A grain of rice is peeking out to eat each grain. Meanwhile, the green seedlings and paddy heads of paddy have started to turn yellow. After that, field after field will sparkle with golden rice grains.The empty spheres of farmers will be filled with golden rice.And so the farmers are dreaming around this Ropa-Aman paddy.And after a few days, ripe rice will come home.Now the Aman rice field is catching the eye.Around the field there is a golden ceremony with a green background.
According to Upazila Agriculture Office, different varieties of paddy have been cultivated in 5 unions in Tajumaddin Upazila this season.
Erimdhya BR-11,22,Bridhan-52,87, A total of 11 thousand 900 hectares of land has been planted with Ropa-Aman rice.This year the target has been set at 11,860 hectares. Shambhupur Union 1 thousand 4 hundred 90 hectares, Chadanpur Union 3 thousand 3 hundred 30 hectares, Chanchra Union 3 thousand 8 hundred 50 hectares, Sonapur Union 2 thousand 4 hundred 20 hectares, Malnchara Union 8 hundred 10 hectares.
On Wednesday (November 6), various fields of the five unions of the upazila were seen on the spot, the golden rice grains are wandering in the fog in the morning and the golden sun of the sun is playing in the afternoon.The hearts of the farmers are filled with joy and smiles. Compared to last year, this year Aman paddy is likely to get an unexpected yield in this field, the dream of the farmer. Although various types of pest infestations have required multiple applications of pesticides, production costs have increased.
Farmer Jamal Uddin of Shambhupur Union of Upazila said, this year I planted saplings in 120 percent of the land, although there was some damage due to heavy rain at the beginning of planting, later on the advice of the agriculture office and Crops improved through care. In the field, some paddy fields have turned golden in flower, while some paddy fields are just blooming.But after only a few days, most of the paddy in the field will begin to ripen.
Suman, a farmer of Chandpur Union, said that this year, there was more insect infestation in the paddy field than last year.Pesticides have to be applied four to five times.He also said that it is still possible to get the expected yield at home. Farmer Md. Quader of Dighalakandi area of Chachandra Union said, that two to three thousand rupees will be spent on a bigha this time than last year. But the farmers are dreaming of profiting because the rice market is high.
Tajumaddin Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Nazmul Huda said, that till now the farmers' rice is in good condition this year.The office is providing round-the-clock advice to the farmers.However, if the weather is favorable, we hope that the farmers will be able to harvest the paddy at the right time and bring it home.
