Fish fry released in Amtali

Fish fry have been released in Barguna's Amtali under the conservation and development project of native species of fish and snails.
On Wednesday morning, the program was inaugurated by the release of fry in the Upazila Parishad pond organized by the office of the Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer.
Muhammad Ashraful Alam, the upazila nirbahi officer (UNO), released the pona fish as the chief guest at the event.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Amtali Taltali Circle Ruhul Amin, Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Tarek Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Amtali Police Station Md. Ariful Islam, Upazila Fisheries Officer Tanmoy Kumar Dash and others were present.
On the occasion, Upazila Fisheries Officer Tanmoy Kumar Dash said that 360 kg of fish fry were released in 13 institutional ponds of the upazila under the conservation and development project of native species of fish and snails for the financial year 2023-2024. He also said that the government has taken this initiative to meet the demand of meat.
