GAU champions at Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026

Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has achieved the distinction of becoming the Champion in the University Category among all public and private universities in Bangladesh at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026, in recognition of its success in research, innovation, and creativity.
The Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, was held from September 12 to 14 at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre in Dhaka. The fair was organized under the theme “Innovate To Market,” where various public and private universities and institutions showcased their innovations and technologies.
More than 1,000 innovative technologies from various organizations across the country were displayed at the Fair.
GAU’s innovative technologies, particularly those related to agriculture, research, and food security, attracted the attention of visitors, industry entrepreneurs, and relevant policymakers due to their scientific significance, practical applicability, creativity, and commercial potential.
At the closing ceremony of the Fair-2026 on the evening of September 14, GAU was declared the Champion in the University Category. In recognition of the achievement, Prof Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Planning, and Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, handed over the award crest to Prof Dr. G.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Gazipur Agricultural University. Other innovators from the university were also present on the occasion.
Expressing satisfaction over the achievement, GAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. G.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman said, “This outstanding achievement is the result of the collective efforts and relentless hard work of the university’s innovators, students, teachers, officers, employees, and all personnel working in the laboratories and at the field level.”
The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that the university’s ongoing innovations would play a significant role in building a “Prosperous Bangladesh.”
