DU Finance Department celebrates its golden jubilee

The golden jubilee of Dhaka University Finance Department was celebrated on Saturday with a day-long colorful programme .
On this occasion, a gathering, commemoration, award ceremony, discussion meeting, cultural program and concert were organized at the central playground. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest at the program.
The program was presided over by the Chairman of the department, Prof Dr. H. M. Mosharraf Hossain, and the Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur spoke as the guest of honour.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, founding teachers of the department Professor Dr. A. H. M. Habibur Rahman and Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed were present as special guests at the program. Professor Shabnaz Amin and Assistant Professor Kazi Golam Rabbani Maula conducted the program.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the teachers, students and alumni of the department on the occasion of the golden jubilee and said that this department has contributed a lot to the socio-economic development of the country. The teachers, students and alumni of this department are leading various institutions with pride. Calling on the alumni to play an effective role in the overall development of the university, he said that in this regard, people from all walks of life, including individuals and institutions, should come forward.
