Ansar-VDP introduces pioneer college-based basic training for youth dev

At the initiative of Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP), the force introduced its first-ever college-based VDP basic training program nationwide to instill leadership, patriotism, and social responsibility among college students.
A total of 25,097 students across 418 colleges in 392 upazilas under nine ranges are participating in the 10-working-day training program, which is scheduled over three weeks. The curriculum comprises 16 modules and 60 sessions covering physical drill, public safety, disaster management, firefighting, Japanese language skills, and digital platforms like AVMIS and AVJOBS Portal. Designed alongside regular academic schedules, the program also incorporates modules on freelancing, entrepreneurship, and agricultural development.
Deputy Director General and Rangpur Range Commander Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated and inspected the first phase of the training in Kishoreganj and Sadar upazilas of Nilphamari district on Tuesday .
Inspecting the practical sessions on Tuesday, September 15, Deputy Director General Mohammad Abdul Awal addressed trainees and officials, emphasizing that integrating discipline, skill acquisition, and community service into student life will empower youth to actively contribute to public safety, disaster response, and nation-building initiatives as self-reliant citizens.
