State Minister for Health Muhit announces plans for nursing,  dental colleges in Shahjadpur

Staff Correspondent

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M A Muhit announced government plans to establish a nursing college and a dental college in Shahjadpur to expand specialized medical education in the area, while cautioning that infrastructural developments alone cannot foster true societal transformation.

Speaking as the chief guest at a civic reception organized by the Shahjadpur Upazila Kalyan Samiti at Segunbagicha in the capital on Tuesday afternoon, State Minister Dr. M A Muhit emphasized that while the government can construct buildings and roads, it cannot alter human mindsets. He warned that without active practice of honesty and justice in society, fascism would inevitably recur.

During the event on Tuesday, September 15, the Shahjadpur Upazila Kalyan Samiti, an association of Shahjadpur residents living in Dhaka, accorded a civic reception to Dr. M A Muhit, an internationally acclaimed ophthalmologist and public health expert, who serves as both State Minister for Health and Member of Parliament for Shahjadpur.

Outlining his political philosophy and regional development roadmap, Dr. Muhit stated that society must stop according honor to corrupt individuals while dismissing honest citizens. Addressing long-term development plans for Shahjadpur, the State Minister noted that alongside modernizing local communication networks and improving services at the Upazila Health Complex, initiatives are underway to establish a major new hospital, a nursing college, and a dental college in the eastern region.
