
Discussion meeting on recitation organized by ‘Alokdharae Mili'

‘Alokdharae Mili’ -with this slogan “Togetherness in the light of tomorrow” has been working with the commitment to uphold the practice of Bangladeshi art, literature, and culture in Canada.
The organization arranged a discussion meeting on recitation recently.
The meeting was held on Sunday afternoon at Dhaka Kitchen Restaurant in Toronto, presided over by the organization’s president, Munira Sultana Mili.
Among those present were Subarna Dey, Salma Siddika, Kakoli Debnath, Tania Ahmed Tumpa, Sumona Arjun, Suparna Bhattacharya, Farhana Irene, Debashish Debnath, Azam Mohammad, Tarun Chakraborty, Sultan Ahmed, Shakil Ahmed, and Zafar Selim. Participants also included young students of the recitation branch: Aradhya, Faria, Ahona, Shreyadita, Prisha, Zayan, and Sunaira. Certificates of honor were awarded to young artists Ahona Chakraborty and Shreyadita Debnath.
In the second session, poems were recited by poet Zafar Selim, poet Farhana Irene, and Mrs. Dola, while artist Salma Siddika Ratna performed songs.
During the discussion, a unanimous decision was adopted to work collectively so that the new generation growing up abroad remains rooted in the Bangla language. Participants expressed determination to preserve recitation, language practice, music, dance, acting, and all branches of culture within the diaspora.
In this context, the organization emphasized the inclusion of new members so that it can contribute more broadly to the welfare, training, and social service of both local and international communities.
