Rally, discussion held on World Autism Awareness Day in Pirojpur

On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held in Pirojpur under the initiative of the District Administration and Social Services Directorate, keeping in mind the motto "Autism is not a limitation, every life is precious".
On Wednesday morning, a colourful rally was taken out from the district circuit house premises jointly organized by the district administration, the district social service office and the disability service and aid center. The rally ends at the District Commissioner's office after circling the various important roads of the city.
Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Shaheed Abdur Razzak Saif-Mizan Memorial Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Alauddin Bhuya Jani spoke as the chief guest in the meeting. He said, "Autism is not a handicap. With proper care, education and social support, children with autism can also become important assets of the society and the state. Everyone in the society should come forward to ensure compassionate treatment and equal rights for them."
Assistant Director Md Ibrahim Khalil, City Social Service Officer Md Masum Billah, Disability Affairs Officer Priyongbada Bhattacharya, Senior Journalist Md Ziaul Ahsan, BRAC NGO Coordinator Md Zahidur Rahman and volunteers spoke as special guests in the event under the chairmanship of Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Md Iqbal Kabir and moderated by Assistant Director Md Ibrahim Khalil. Md. Habibur Rahman, president of organization Positive Pirojpur and others.

Speakers said that by increasing public awareness about autism and positive social attitudes, it is possible to integrate children with autism into the mainstream of society. For this purpose, they urged the family, society and the state to work together.
General Secretary of Positive Pirojpur Zubair Al Mamun, journalist Md. Monirul Islam Chowdhury and social service office officials, leaders of various voluntary organizations, journalists and disabled school students were also present.
