Coast Guard provides emergency medical aid to ill passenger on launch after call to 16111

The Bangladesh Coast Guard promptly responded to an emergency call via helpline 16111, providing vital medical assistance to a critically ill passenger aboard a moving passenger launch.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, media officer of the Coast Guard said this in a press release on Wednesday morning.
According to the Coast Guard, a passenger had departed Dhaka for Bhola aboard the passenger launch MV Farhan-9 at 12:00 PM on Tuesday . When the vessel reached the area adjacent to the Ulania launch ghat under Mehendiganj police station in Barishal at around 4:00 PM, the passenger suddenly fell severely ill after experiencing acute chest pain, turning his condition critical. At that moment, a fellow passenger onboard dialed the Coast Guard emergency helpline 16111 seeking urgent assistance.
Acting swiftly on the information, a specialized medical team from Coast Guard Station Kaliganj rushed to intercept and board the launch, administering necessary emergency medical treatment to the patient.
Once his condition stabilized slightly, the patient was handed over to his family members and safely transferred to the Bhola Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care.
Reiterating the force's commitment to public welfare, the media officer stated that the Coast Guard remains constantly dedicated to public service and will continue such humanitarian operations in the future.
