Barguna Zila Parishad has awarded educational scholarships totaling Tk 13,09,000 to 226 meritorious students who successfully passed the SSC, HSC, and equivalent examinations of 2025.
The scholarship cheques were handed over to the meritorious students at an event held at the Zila Parishad office on Tuesday.
Chief Whip of the National Parliament and four-time Member of Parliament for Barguna-2, Alhaj Nurul Islam Moni, virtually joined and inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
Presided over by Barguna Zila Parishad Administrator and District BNP Convener Md. Nazrul Islam Mollah, the program featured Additional District Commissioner (General) and ADC Education Animesh Biswas, Superintendent of Police Md. Qudrat-e-Khuda (PPM-Seba), Zila Parishad CEO Arabinda Biswas, Barguna Govt College Principal Prof Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Govt Women's College Principal Professor Mohammad Abdul Malek, District Secondary Education Officer Shirin Akhter, and Barguna Sadar UNO Md. Shah Aziz as special guests.
Zila Parishad Administrator Md. Nazrul Islam Mollah stated, "Education is the backbone of a nation, and the proper evaluation of talented individuals will fulfill our dream of a better future.
Invited guests officially handed over the scholarship cheques to the 226 students. Stakeholders noted that this initiative by the Zila Parishad will provide crucial financial assistance for students pursuing higher education while inspiring talented youth.
