Coast Guard joint drive in Sandwip : Notorious drug dealer arrested with Yaba, local weapons

In a joint operation, the Bangladesh Coast Guard and police have arrested a notorious drug dealer along with 445 pieces of Yaba tablets, ammunition, and local weapons in Sandwip upazila of Chattogram.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Coast Guard media officer, confirmed the details of the drive on Monday morning.
According to the Coast Guard, acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising personnel from Coast Guard Station Sandwip, Outpost Sarikait, and the police conducted a raid in the Akbar Hat area under Sandwip upazila at around 6:00 PM on Sunday.
During a search of a suspicious residential house in the area, the joint forces arrested the drug dealer and seized 445 pieces of Yaba tablets valued at approximately Tk 2,22,500, one rocket signal, one rocket parachute flare, one rubber bullet round, one live cartridge, and two local weapons.
The process of taking subsequent legal action against the arrested drug dealer and handing over the recovered evidence has been taken.
