Youth killed in BSF firing along Chunarughat border in Habiganj

A young man named Sohag Mia (20) was shot dead by India's Border Security Force (BSF) along the Chimtibil border in Ahmadabad union of Chunarughat upazila, Habiganj on Monday . The victim is the son of Shafiq Mia, a resident of the border area.
According to the victim's uncle, Abdul Kadir, Sohag had gone to the border area as usual in the morning to tend to cattle when BSF personnel opened unprovoked fire on him.
When he did not return, family members began searching for the area and eventually found him lying near the border. Abdul Kadir and several others rescued him and rushed him to the Chunarughat Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physician, Sirajam Munira, declared him dead.
Chunarughat Police Station OC Md. Saiful Islam confirmed the youth's death, stating that the exact cause of death can be determined following an autopsy.
