Two AL leaders arrested: Chinese rifle recovered in N’ganj

Two people including the Organizlng Secretary of Awami League of Sadar Municipality of Araihajar Upazila of Narayanganj District have been arrested.
Police arrested them from Mukundi Gazipura area of the upazila in the early hours of Tuesday. The police recovered a trunk with a Chinese rifle looted from Araihajar police station in an abandoned state in Shivpur area.
The arrested are Habibur Rahman Molla (48), organizer of Awami League of Araihajar Municipality and former president of Ward No. 6 Awami League. He has been arrested as a suspected accused in the vandalism and explosives case. The other is local Awami League activist Raju Mia (33) of Dighirpara area. He was arrested as an accused in the case of murder of Duptara Union BNP vice-president Babul Mia.
Confirming the arrest, OC of Araihazar Police Station Enayet Hossain said that the arrested persons were sent to jail through the court on Tuesday afternoon.
