According to the victim CNG taxi driver Jahangir and local sources, a mechanical fault occurred on the Chattogram Nazirhat regional highway in the area adjacent to Kalibari in the Mirzapur union in the upazila while the CNG-driven autorickshaw (Chattogram Th 14-7098) left the city's Oxygen at around four o'clock in the morning and was heading towards Katirhat. When the driver of the car was going to restart the car after solving the problem of Jahangi's car in Mekhal Ghona area west of Hathazari municipality bus stand, a group of five robbers threatened to kill him and took the car hostage with the money he was carrying. Later, when the incident was reported to the owner of the car, he turned on the GPRS set in the car and found the stolen car in the area adjacent to the Khansama Mosque in Kamalpara of the municipality around seven in the morning.

Later he went to the said place along with the driver Jahangir and recovered the car with a robber. Later, Hathajari Model Police Station arrived at the scene and arrested the robber, Simon (26), son of Abed Ali Saudagar of Muhurihat area, Ward No. 4 of Mirzapur Union and took him to the police station.

When asked to know, the sub-inspector of Hathazari Model Police Station Shahjahan told reporters that the recovered car has been handed over to the owner after verifying the documents. He also said that a case is being filed in this incident. Hathazari Model Police OC Abu Kawsar Mahmud Hossain admitted the truth of the incident.
