Tk 20 cr bridge inaugurated in Bogra, foundation stone of road zone, park development laid

Shah Fateh Ali Bridge built over the Karatoya River in Bogura at a cost of about 20 crore taka was inaugurated. On the same day, the newly formed Bogura Road Zone was inaugurated and the foundation stone of the Shakpala (Flower Garden) Park development work in the suburb was laid. Those concerned are hoping that these projects will add a new dimension to Bogra's communication system, infrastructure and entertainment facilities.
On Saturday (August 8), at around 4:30 pm, the Shah Fateh Ali Bridge was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Road Transport, Bridges, Railways and Shipping, Sheikh Rabiul Alam MP. Earlier, he inaugurated the newly formed Bogra Road Zone in Bogra's Charmatha area in the afternoon. Later, after the bridge inauguration, the minister unveiled the foundation stone plaque for the Shakpala Park development work.
The bridge was constructed at a cost of 198.328 crore taka. Built on the Karatoya River in the capital's Hatirjheel style, this bridge has established direct communication between Bogra city and Sariakandi, Sonatala, Gabtoli and Dhunat upazilas in the eastern region. This has facilitated the travel of about 1.6 million people of the four upazilas and has created an opportunity to transport agricultural products quickly to various markets in the country, including district towns.
Those concerned said that the opening of the bridge will facilitate the communication between the eastern region and Bogra city in terms of time and distance. At the same time, it is expected to expand trade and commerce in these areas and boost local economic activities.
Meanwhile, the initial cost of the development work of the Shakpala (Flower Garden) Park has been estimated at 24 million taka. The Roads Department said that in addition to constructing the boundary wall of the park, additional allocations will be made later to make it more attractive and carry out overall development.
During the inauguration of the Bogra Road Zone, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam MP, District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha MP, Acting General Secretary Md. Mosharraf Hossain MP, Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Department Dr. Mohammad Ziaul Haque, Chief Engineer of SAWZ Syed Moinul Hasan, Executive Engineer of Bogra Roads Department Md. Rashedul Haque and other concerned officials were present.
Bogura City Corporation Administrator MR Islam Swadhin, Deputy Commissioner Md. Taufiqur Rahman, District Council Administrator AKM Ahsanul Tayyab Zakir, Superintendent of Police Mirza Sayem Mahmud PPM, Additional Chief Engineer of Roads Department Md. Moniruzzaman, Rangpur Zone Md. Amanullah, Rajshahi Zone Abdullah Al Mamun, Bogra Zone Md. Suruj Mia and Road Circle Mohammad Hamidul Haque were present in separate programs throughout the day.
Apart from this, the minister also participated in an exchange of views with officials, the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected board of directors of the Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a tree plantation program.
