Human chain demanding load shedding-free electricity, sustainable road construction in Kalapara

A human chain and procession were held in Kalapara of Patuakhali demanding load shedding-free electricity supply, cancellation of meter rental and demand charges and sustainable road construction.
The program was organized by "Nagorik Udyog" Kalapara at around 11 am on Saturday at Monoharipatri in the municipality.
Under the chairmanship of Comrade Nasir Talukder, Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Kalapara branch, the event was addressed by retired lecturer Md. Rafiqul Islam, convener of the Kalapara Upazila branch of Bangladesh Farm Workers' Association, retired lecturer, Atazul Islam, convener and teacher of Pragati Pathagar, Naynabhiram Gain Nayan, Publicity and Publication Secretary of the Kalapara branch of Bangladesh Krishak Samity, businessman Md. Nizam Uddin, among others.
At this time, the speakers said that the people of the area gave their ancestral homes for the establishment of the thermal power plant, for which the people have not yet received 100% compensation.
