An investigation into alleged financial and administrative corruption at Laxmimarai Ahammadia Dakhil Madrasah in Nilphamari’s Jaldhaka upazila has run into persistent delays, with local administration officials accusing the institution's superintendent of actively blocking inquiry proceedings.

According to official complaints lodged with the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the District Commissioner's office, and local education authorities, Madrasah Superintendent Kabir Uddin unlawfully formed a managing committee without following proper protocol or electoral guidelines. In December last year, he allegedly bypassed donor members to appoint two local government primary school teachers—Parveen Akhtar and Ariful Islam—as committee president and enthusiast member in exchange for financial favors.

Subsequent orders for on-site probes issued by the Nilphamari District Primary Education Officer and Jaldhaka UNO Jannatul Ferdous Happy have faced repeated roadblocks. Complaints allege that Superintendent Kabir Uddin routinely avoids official notices and uses delay tactics, including filing last-minute time petitions, to stall inquiries—a tactic he has reportedly used to halt three prior investigations.

In the latest instance, Acting Upazila Primary Education Officer Abdus Samad confirmed that just a day before a scheduled probe, the superintendent submitted a petition seeking a 25-day extension, which was granted.

Local donor member Mahabubur Rahman alleged that the superintendent routinely uses financial leverage to suppress findings.

Meanwhile, UNO Jannatul Ferdous Happy stated that strict administrative measures will be enforced following a complete and fair investigation into the matter.
