Over 100 people get treatment at free medical camp in Barguna

Over a hundred underprivileged and impoverished individuals who otherwise lack access to medical care received free treatment and specialist consultations at a medical camp in Barguna.
The "Mayer Doa Free Medical Camp" was held on Thursday afternoon from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the teachers' auditorium of Barguna Government College.
Patients of all ages, including elderly residents, consulted with specialist physicians Dr. Humayun Shaheen Khan, Dr. AK Chowdhury Apurba, and Dr. Mst. Sabera Sultana to address their health concerns.
The camp was organized under the patronage of Md. Murad Khan, former central leader of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Supreme Court lawyer, and prospective mayoral candidate for Barguna Municipality, as part of community outreach initiatives to support vulnerable populations.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Humayun Shaheen Khan noted that government support for such humanitarian medical drives, particularly in supplying free medicines, would enable even more people to benefit. Organizer Murad Khan stated that he has previously organized similar private medical camps and announced plans to host a free eye treatment camp next month, adding that broader cooperation from the district administration and Zilla Parishad would help expand healthcare services for impoverished residents across Barguna municipality.
Patients expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that specialist consultations are often prohibitively expensive, and called for such camps to be held regularly.
