Singra Upazila Welfare Association, Dhaka, hosted a reception for Principal Anwarul Islam Anu, Member of Parliament for Natore-3 (Singra) Constituency.

A reception, cultural program, and dinner will be held at a restaurant in Dhanmondi in the capital on Friday from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Singra Upazila Welfare Association, Dhaka President and former DIG of Bangladesh Police AZM Nafiul Islam presided over the program and General Secretary Dr. Nazrul Islam moderated it. Deputy Secretary of the Health Care Department and Joint General Secretary of the Association Md. Golam Kibria, Joint General Secretary Md. Zubayer Rahman Jewel, former President of the Association Engineer Anisur Rahman, Managing Director of Winston Properties SM Aslam, Member Secretary of Singra Upazila BNP Professor Sharful Islam Bulbul, former Vice President Md. Afcharuzzaman Afchar, Supreme Court Lawyer and former Vice President of Singra Upazila BNP Barrister M. Yusuf Ali, Municipal BNP Convener Sakhawat Hossain Sakha, Member Mohidul Islam, Upazila BNP Member Rafiqul Islam Bullet, Joint General Secretary of Central Chhatra Dal Md. Rubel Amin, Singra Upazila Chhatra Dal convener Shahadat Hossain Mintu, association's publicity secretary Mizanur Rahman Moon, executive members MA Malek Rana, Salahuddin Sabuj and others.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, MP Principal Anwarul Islam Anu said that the BNP government is working sincerely to implement all the promises made to the people. Mentioning that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's leadership in running the country by adopting the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman is rare in the country's history, he said that various initiatives have been taken for the development of the agriculture and fisheries sectors of the Chalanbil region. A project worth Tk 80 crore has been taken for the development of Singra Upazila, where Chalanbil is inhabited.

He said, "Everyone must work together to continue the overall development and progress of the country. The BNP government is committed to development, good governance and public welfare activities."
