A seminar on SDG localization at the departmental level was held on Sunday with the support of the technical project titled 'Capacity Enhancement of National Statistical System for Coordinating SDG Data Reporting' under implementation by the SDG Cell of the Management Department.

Divisional Commissioner Md. Helal Mahmud Sharif was present as the chief guest in the seminar.

Presided over by Md. Hamidul Haque, Additional Secretary Statistics and Information Management Department , the program is divided into two phases.Dr. Dipankar Roy gave the welcome speech at the opening phase.

Mohammad Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner, Khulna also was present.

The chief guest said, "SDG localization is a very fruitful plan for the overall progress of the country".

Md. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, Project Director and Deputy Secretary, Md. Alamgir Hossain, Focal Point Officer of SDG Cell of Statistics Bureau gave a presentation on SDG localization. Dr. Uttam Kumar Majumder, Head of Department, Statistics Discipline, Khulna University also gave a presentation.

Finally, open discussion and panel discussion session were held.

The open discussion was moderated by Md. Alamgir Hossain and the panel discussion was conducted by Dr. Dipankar Roy, Joint Secretary, Statistics and Information Management Department, Md. Mir Hossain, Joint Secretary, Statistics and Information Management Department and Md. Aktar Hossain, Joint Director, Divisional Statistics Office. Khulna.

The President of the program, Md. Hamidul Haque, announced the end of the seminar.
