College teacher dies of dengue in Bagerhat

Shekhar Chandra Haldar, an Assistant Professor of Political Science of Fakirhat Sheikh Helel Uddin Govt. College under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district died of Dengue in Khulna City Medical College Hospital on Friday while he was undertaking treatment there.
It was confirmed by the Sheikh Helal Uddin College authorities, according to a report received here.
She left behind wife who is a teacher of a Govt. Primary School, a daughter, a student of Class-X and a host of relatives, students and a number of admirers to mourn his death. He had been the college as a teacher since its inception.
Convicted fugitive arrested in Fakirhat
Abdul Rakib Morol (35) who was convicted by a court for one year under Anti-Narcotic Act hails from the village Bailtali under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district was arrested by the police from his village residence at Friday (Nov. 22), according to a report received here. The arrestee is the son of one Abdur Razzaq Morol of the village.
It is learnt from the police that acting on secret information a police squad led by SI Ashik Reza of Fakirhat Model PS raided the village at the night (at 9 pm), He was also a warranted accused (Case No.08 dated Feb. 11, 2017 and GR No.19/17 Fakirhat PS).
It was confirmed by S M Alamgir Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS and told, the arrested accused was sent to the jail hajat at Bagerhat district headquarters through the court on Saturday morning.
