Safety equipment distributed among 60 journalists of Khulna Div

The Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee (BJPC), formed with the funding of the European Union and in collaboration with Free Press Unlimited and Article 19, has distributed safety equipment among about 60 journalists of Khulna division.
The program was held on Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm at the Aranya Eco Garden in Khulna. Various types of safety equipment including bulletproof jackets, safety helmets, earmuffs were handed over to the elected permanent members of the organization at the program. Journalists from 10 districts of Khulna division as well as from Pabna and Gaibandha, participated in this.
Speakers at the program highlighted the importance of such initiatives to ensure a safe working environment for journalists. They expressed their gratitude to Free Press Unlimited, the European Union, and Article 19 for this cooperation, and expressed hope that such activities will continue in the future to protect and enhance the capacity of journalists.
The organization had previously distributed laptops to 20 women journalists.
The program was chaired by the President of Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee and Kaler Kantho reporter Kaushik De and moderated by the organization's general secretary and Global Television's Khulna divisional head Anisur Rahman Kabir. Khulna Press Club President Mustafa Sarwar, General Secretary Md. Tariqul Islam, Khulna Newspaper Council General Secretary and Editor of Daily Khulna Region Mizanur Rahman Milton, Maasranga Television's Khulna Divisional Head Abu Hena Mustafa Zaman, Dhaka Tribune's Khulna correspondent Md. Hedayet Hossain Molla, Himalaya Khulna Bureau Chief, and Ushar Alo Newspaper Executive Editor Md. Rabiul Islam Manju and CMKS executive member Abul Hossain.
The general meeting was attended by Sheikh Abu Sayeed Shunu, the president of the Bagerhat district of the Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee, the district representative of Dainik Manabzamin. In addition, representatives of various media outlets of the Bangladesh Journalists Protect Committee, permanent members and leaders of organizations from Bagerhat, Magura and Meherpur, Narail, Jessore, Jhenaidah, and other districts were present.
