The people of Banyari village of Matibhanganga union have been suffering from a serious communication crisis for ages. The West Banyari to Kaliganj Bazar road has become a curse for the locals. Due to the very poor communication system, many boys and girls of this village are not getting married. Due to the impassable road, the marriages of boys and girls are being broken, even dying patients are being taken to the hospital on stretchers carrying corpses. This is a heartbreaking incident. Even during the rainy and monsoon seasons, the locals make bridges over the road using bamboo and trees.

This unpaved road is in Nazirpur Upazila.
It is connected to Kaliganj Bazar in the neighboring Chitalmari Upazila through West Banyari village. Thousands of people travel through the road every day. Especially during the monsoon season, the people of this region suffer a lot.

The locals have been protesting against the public representatives and various government offices for many years, but the road has not been repaired or paved. When candidates seek votes from the locals at various times, including during the national elections, their only demand is to pave the road.

On-site inspection revealed that the nearly two-kilometer-long dirt road has become a misery. Although it is passable during the dry season, it becomes unusable during the rainy season. The entire road becomes a mass of mud when rainwater and soil mix.

Local residents complain that this unpaved road has been left untouched for a long time and has become a flat area. The road is full of potholes. During the rainy season, the road becomes completely impassable due to water and mud.
The villagers were forced to make their own bamboo bridges to facilitate movement.

Social worker and prominent businessman Md. Faruk Hossain (Swapon) Molla, a resident of Banyari village, said that numerous people travel on the road every day. Apart from the villagers, students of Banyari Government Primary School and West Banyari Hilful Fuzul Islamia Madrasa come and go. Since birth, I have seen people walking on the road, trampling knee-deep in mud.

No one has come forward to alleviate our suffering. When the votes of those living in this region are needed in various elections, the candidates are swept away by the tide of development. But after the elections, the promises they made are no longer remembered.

Faruk Hossain Swapan at one point told the journalists, "Brother, you came last year and did news, but there was no change in our fate and the fate of the road. So what will happen if we do news?" he asked. Because of this road, no one in our village wants to marry off boys or girls.

Local Jewel Mia said, "The rainy season really has no end to our worries. We have to spend day after day in worry and frustration."

Another young man named Md. Forkan said, "I have seen our fathers and uncles following public representatives to reduce the suffering of traveling on this road. Everyone has assured me, but no one has come forward to pave the road."

In this regard, Chairman of Matibhanga Union Parishad Md. Zahidul Islam said, "The road from Banyari to Kaliganj Bazar is in very bad condition. This project has been given to LGED several times but has not been passed yet. I hope the project will become a reality soon."

Upazila PIO Md. Salauddin said, "I went to inspect the road. The public is suffering due to the mud. We are applying for the next tender for the road in the upcoming SBP project in our department."
