SAARC Journalist Forum leaders Raju Lama, Abdur Rahman to attend 18th Bhartiya Patrakarita Mahotsav in Indore

SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF) Central President Raju Lama and Secretary General Md Abdur Rahman are scheduled to attend the 18th Bhartiya Patrakarita Mahotsav in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, scheduled to take place from October 2 to October 4, 2026.
The three-day media festival, organized by the State Press Club, Madhya Pradesh, at Jall Auditorium under the theme "Celebration of the Identity and Dignity of Words," will convene editors, journalists, media practitioners, and press organization leaders to discuss the changing dynamics of journalism in India and the wider South Asian region.
A focal point of the 18th edition will be "Gen-Z Journalism," examining how young content creators and digital-native journalists are transforming news production, distribution, and consumption. Additional sessions will address the long-term prospects of professional journalism, ethical accountability, media freedom, and the evolving responsibilities of the press.
The participation of the SJF leadership is expected to bring a broader regional perspective to the festival. During the event, Raju Lama and Md Abdur Rahman will hold discussions with Indian and regional media delegates on press safety, cross-border media cooperation, journalistic independence, and contemporary challenges facing the press in South Asia.
The SAARC Journalist Forum continues its ongoing efforts to foster solidarity and strategic collaboration among journalism networks across South Asian countries.
