Bogura Correspondent 

A training workshop on “Responsibility and Duties of Journalists in Preventing Misinformation and Misjournalism in Mass Media and Providing Objective News” organized by Bangladesh Press Council was held with the participation of 40 journalists from print and electronic media of Bogura district. 

The workshop was held at 10 am on Thursday at Bogura Circuit House Conference Room. It was organized by Bangladesh Press Council in collaboration with District Administration, Bogura .

Justice AKM Abdul Hakim, Chairman of the Bangladesh Press Council, was present as the chief guest at the event. He inaugurated the workshop and delivered a speech in the second session on “Need for proper implementation and observance of media-related laws and regulations to prevent propaganda and misreporting in the media.”

The workshop was presided over by Mr. Md. Taufiqur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Bogra. Mr. Mirza Sayem Mahmud, Superintendent of Police (PPM) of Bogra, spoke as a special guest. In addition, the Senior Information Officer of Bogra delivered a welcome speech.

In the first session of the workshop, Resource Person Bangladesh Press Council Secretary (Joint Secretary)  Md. Abdus Sabur spoke on the topic of "Following the code of conduct formulated by the Press Council to disseminate objective news by avoiding rumors, fake news and hate speech and the responsibilities and duties of journalists."

The day-long program, which began with recitations from the holy scriptures and an introduction session, included a question-and-answer session for journalists, and at the end, certificates were distributed to everyone.
