The 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities and 26th National Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024 were celebrated in Satkhira with the theme "Building an inclusive, sustainable future will lead people with disabilities to progress". Rallies, discussions and cultural programs have been organized on the occasion of the day.

Organized by the District Administration, District Social Services Office, Disability Services and Help Center, a rally started from Satkhira Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park at 10 am on Tuesday and circled the main main road of the city and met at the District Shiloakola Academy Auditorium.

Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostak Ahmed spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of District Social Services Office Deputy Director Santosh Kumar Nath.

Santosh Kumar Nath, Deputy Director of District Social Services Department, delivered the welcome address on the occasion. District BNP convener Advocate Syed Iftekhar Ali, Jamaat-e-Islami Satkhira District Branch Ameer(President) Shahidul Islam Mukul, Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman spoke as special guests.

Md. Roknuzzaman, Assistant Director of Social Services Office, Sheikh Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary of National Visually Impaired Organization and others spoke on the occasion.

Ameer Zahidul Islam of Satkhira City Jamaat, Deputy Supervisor of Satkhira Government Child Welfare Center Ayesha Khatun, Satkhira City Social Service Officer Murshidul Haque, Satkhira Disability Council and Aid Center Dr. Habibur Rahman, District Social Service Officer (Registration) Md. Tariqul Islam, Swedish celebrity Hanif Lashkar is the headmaster of the school for the mentally retarded Md. Rafiqul Islam.

Mention, on the occasion of 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities and 26th National Day of Persons with Disabilities, 14 wheelchairs were distributed among the disabled in Satkhira. The entire program was conducted by Sumana Sharmin, Probation Officer of District Social Services Office.
