3 including Chhatra League leader arrested in Pabna, firearms seized

The District Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested three people, including a leader of the banned organization Chhatra League, in a raid in Hemayetpur of Pabna Sadar Upazila. Firearms and bullets were seized from them.
This information was given in a press release from the District Superintendent of Police Office on Wednesday (December 3) afternoon. Earlier, they were arrested on Tuesday night.
The arrested are Ismail Biswas (27), son of Yunus Biswas of Bhabanipur village of Hemayetpur union of Sadar Upazila, Yusuf Ali (26), son of the late Sultan Sarkar of Chandipasha village of Atgharia upazila, and Sheikh Farid (26), the entertainment secretary of Sadar Upazila Chhatra League and son of Shahinur Rahman of Salaipur Mridhapara village of Gayeshpur union.
Pabna District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Basir said that they were arrested after conducting a raid at the house of Ismail Biswas in Bhabanipur village based on a secret tip-off. During this, a single-barrel gun, a one-shooter gun, 38 rounds of cartridges and two rounds of 22-bore bullets were recovered from them.
The OC also said that a case has been filed in this regard and the arrested persons have been handed over to Pabna Sadar Police Station. From there, they will be handed over to the court.
