Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of the National University (NU), has announced full-funded scholarships for students from SAARC member nations.
Speaking as the chief guest, he highlighted that students from Nepal, in particular, will be offered the opportunity to pursue higher education at the National University free of cost. He noted that this initiative will open new horizons in education, research, and cultural exchange, while significantly bolstering higher education collaboration across South Asia.
The VC made the announcement on Thursday during his speech as the chief guest at an international conference titled “Applied Psychology: Behavioural Science Advancement,” held at National College in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Researchers, psychologists, academicians, and policymakers from various countries attended the event, which was organized in a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary hybrid model.
Prof Amanullah said "As the world's second-largest university, the National University plays a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s higher education system, serving nearly 4 million students across more than 2,500 affiliated colleges. Among the nearly 50 disciplines offered, Psychology is one of the primary subjects.
Addressing this critical situation demands international cooperation, robust counseling mechanisms, and the development of adequate professional psychologists.
