Chandpur's illustrated son Humayun Kabir serving as Assistant Secretary in Local Government Division

SM Humayun Kabir, a civil servant hailing from Chandpur district, is currently serving as Assistant Secretary in the Local Government Division (LGD) under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.
According to official notifications and departmental records, Kabir is presently posted in the Audit-3 Branch of the Local Government Division. In his current role, he coordinates audit and financial inspection activities related to various local government institutions, including municipalities, union parishads, and upazila parishads. He is the son of Mujibur Rahman Pagliari and belongs to Meena village in Chandpur Sadar upazila.
Prior to his current assignment, Kabir served as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports for an extended period, where he played a pivotal role in sports administration and restructuring efforts. Following official directives from the National Sports Council (NSC) in August and September 2024, he oversaw administrative orders regarding the removal of presidents across 42 national sports federations and associations.
Besides, official instructions issued under his signature led to the dissolution of existing district and divisional sports committees nationwide and the subsequent formation of ad-hoc administrative committees.
