Meherpur Zila Parishad distributes sewing machines to 60 helpless women

Meherpur District Council has distributed sewing machines to 60 helpless families with the aim of creating self-employment and making poor families self-reliant. These sewing machines were officially handed over to the beneficiaries at a program titled 'Sewing Machine Distribution-2026' at the Gangni Upazila Auditorium on Monday.
Zila Parishad CEO H. M. Salauddin Manju presided over the program, and District BNP President Javed Masud Milton spoke as the chief guest. Gangni UNO Md. Nabid Hossain spoke as the special guest. Sewing machines were handed over to 60 helpless and destitute women at the program.
The speakers said that such initiatives will play an important role in making backward and distressed men and women economically self-reliant. They expressed hope that the beneficiaries will be able to create their own employment, increase their family income and earn a living by using the sewing machines.
The program, moderated by the Chief Assistant of the District Council, Zahidur Rahman, was also attended by Gangni Upazila Youth Development Officer Rokanuddin, former President of Gangni Upazila BNP Rezaul Haque, President of Upazila BNP Alfas Uddin Kalu, General Secretary of Municipality BNP Shahidur Rahman, other officials of the Zila Parishad local dignitaries and family members of the beneficiaries. The helpless women beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the District Council after receiving the sewing machines.
