Farmer dies in Satkhira after being struck by lightning

A farmer named Lalit Mondal (50) was killed in a lightning strike in Tala, Satkhira on Monday afternoon in Kathbunia village of Khalilnagar union of Tala upazila. The deceased, Lalit Mondal, is the son of Bancharam Mondal of Kathbunia village.
Ujjal Mondal, a resident of Kathbunia village, said that Lalit Mondal was making fishing equipment in his fishing farm (enclosure) in Kathbunia village. He was seriously injured due to a sudden lightning strike. At that time, local people rescued him and brought him to Tala Upazila Health Complex, but he died on the way.
Sheikh Shahinur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station, confirmed the incident.
