Dhaka Registration Complex in the capital's Tejgaon industrial area has turned into an arena of bribery and corruption.

In this complex, there are numerous allegations against Babu Hawlader of land registration, document execution, forgery, record search, correction and change of land class, including accepting bribes in the name of land classification and various forms of harassment.

Babu Howlader is known as 'Godfather ' of 'Umedars' This Umedar Babu Howlader appointed the officials personally. Basically, he controls the land-related activities of the registration office, including bribery network, fake-fraud sometimes pretending to be the owner of non-existent person or sometimes writing the land of common people to the influential people in the fake commission, and by doing these misdemeanors, he is grabbing millions of taka every day for the day-to-day work of the office. Not only that, the inactivity of his CDIC is going on in this office even at night.

It is known that once he used to stand in front of the registration complex gate and sell nuts.

Later, he took on the work of an Umedar's tea and water, along with various other footforms. Babu Hawladar started working with oral permission from the authorities without appointment letter but it did not take long for Babu Hawlader's fortunes to turn around.

At that time, the government officials of the sub-registrar's office refrained from accepting bribes for fear of the administration. Then Babu Howlader, the godfather of Umedars, was given the responsibility of taking the bribe. Because Babu was not appointed then. If arrested, officials can say he (Babu) is not one of them. Use this opportunity, baby. He used to trade all the bribe money. He used to take bribes of lakhs of taka in the name of sub-registrars and gave them only to government officials and employees. When probed for his details, it was revealed from one of his close associates, who has not been named, that he launders black money by sending the sub-registrars' illegal money to a relative in Malaysia through hundi. Not only that, he owns a total of 3 houses and several flats in Badda in Dhaka city and has a huge property in Pangasia village in Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali, his village home.

But even if earthworms don't grow, snakes come out. Umedar Babu Howladar used to drink and dance at the bar of Hotel Sweet Dream in Banani of the capital on the night of March 11, 2020. There he met Shehzad Khan alias Khairul Hasan (Father: Nazrul Islam, Mother: Ayesha Akhtar, Village: Madhya Bhagalpur, Police Station: Bajitpur, Kishoreganj), together they drank, enjoyed dancing and eating, the hotel bill was 8 thousand taka.

There was an argument between them about paying this bill. At one point they got into a fight. Babu paid 8 thousand rupees of the bill. When they came down to the hotel around 4:30 in the night, they got into a fight again. Khairul Hasan became seriously ill. He was taken to Crescent Hospital, Uttara where doctors declared him brought dead. A case was filed in Banani police station. After seeing the CCTV footage, the DB police arrested Babu and remanded him.

At that time he gave a confessional statement under section 164 in the court, the police filed a charge sheet against him in which it was said that Khairul died due to Babu's beating. In this attack, Babu stayed in jail for a long time, after which he was released on bail, even after all this, the IJIA office and registration complex did not take any action against him at that time.

Babu Hawladar with his money and power has not revealed the file of his misdeeds till today. Due to the fact that Umedar Babu Hawladar is working in Mohammadpur sub-registrar's office, no documents are registered in this office unless he is bribed, said the concerned. And he takes the money of all these documents through the document writers.

Inspector General of Registration (IGR);, Ministry of Parliamentary Law Affairs and ACC got heaps of complaints against him.

In this regard when Dhaka District Registrar Ahidul Islam was called for his comments , his phone was not received. Along with this, the reporter called Umedar Babu Howladaler of Mohammadpur Sub-registry office several times on his cell phone, but he disconnected the phone call.
