Corruption case by ACC : Dhaka Dist Registrar Ahidul Islam put in jail

The court has ordered Dhaka District Registrar Ahidul Islam (47) to be sent to jail in a case filed by the ACC on the charge of acquiring wealth beyond the known income.

Tuesday (April 30) was scheduled to receive the charge sheet of the case in the court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Assamach Jaglul Hossain. On this day, he surrendered to the court and applied for bail. After the hearing, the court denied his bail and sent him to prison. At the same time, the court accepted the charge sheet of the case.

According to the sources of the case, on September 21, 2021, the case was filed by the ACC Assistant Director Mohammad Jinnatul Islam at the Dhaka District Integrated Office-1. After the investigation of the case, on January 9 this year, Ahidul Islam and his wife Parveen Hossain Bhuiyan (45) were accused and filed a chargesheet by the investigating officer of the ACC, Mohammad Neyamul Ahsan Gazi.

In the charge sheet of the case, the accused has been accused of acquiring assets worth Tk 1 crore 21 lakh 55 thousand 649 and giving false information about assets worth Tk 94 lakh 50 thousand.
