26th National, 33rd Int'l Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated in Barishal

The 26th National and 33rd Day of Persons with Disabilities were celebrated in Barishal with the theme of 'Building an inclusive sustainable future, people with disabilities will move forward under developed leadership', a rally, discussion meeting and material distribution program was held at the conference room of Barishal Circuit House on Tuesday at 10 am at the initiative of the District Administration and Social Services Department.
A colourful rally was taken out from Barisal Circuit House on the occasion of the day. Deputy Director of Barisal Local Government Department Gautam Baroi was the chief guest at the program. Deputy Director of District Social Services Office AKM Akhtaruzzaman Talukder presided over the program. Director of Divisional Social Services Office Shah Md. Rafiqul Islam, Civil Surgeon Sabyasachi Das were special guests at the program. Representatives of various government, private and voluntary organizations and disadvantaged disabled people were also present. The program was hosted by Sajjad Parvez, Government Director of the District Social Services Office.
At this time, the speakers said that the progress of the country is not possible without excluding a special section of the society. Therefore, the participation of the disabled in all activities of the society should be ensured for the purpose of sustainable development. Financial assistance was provided to 30 disadvantaged disabled people at the program.
