Youth arrested from Savar for allegedly spreading obscene video of MP using AI

The District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested a young man named Parvez Alam Khan (32) in a cyber case filed against M Naser Rahman, a member of parliament from Moulvibazar-3 (Sadar-Rajnagar) constituency and a member of the BNP's national executive committee, for allegedly spreading obscene videos on social media using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The district police confirmed the arrest in a media report that he was arrested around 4:30 am on Saturday (August 8).
The arrested Parvez Alam Khan is a resident of Ward No. 6 of Patan Ushar Union in Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar. He was currently living in the alley of Alauddin Mosque in the Madhya Rajashan area of Savar Upazila of Dhaka.
To arrest the second accused in the case, Parvez Alam Khan, a team of the District Detective Police led by the investigating officer of the case, SI Ahlad Ibne Jamil, identified his location with the help of information technology. Later, he was arrested in an overnight raid in the alley of Alauddin Mosque in Rajashan area of Savar upazila of Dhaka district.
District Detective Branch OC Sudipto Shekhar Bhattacharya said that the arrested accused has been sent to court. Earlier, another accused named Syed Tanvir was arrested by DB in the same case. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and the police are working to identify and arrest other accused involved in the incident.
