‘I want to go back to my children’: Stranded Indian mother seeks repatriation from Satkhira

Shahida Fakir, 40, an Indian citizen from North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is living in uncertainty in Kalaroa, Satkhira, after allegedly being forcibly pushed into Bangladesh by Indian authorities.
Shahida, who has lived in Mumbai for nearly 20 years, stated that she was detained on July 18 by individuals identifying as CID officers while at a local market. Despite her family presenting valid identification documents, she alleges she was held at a detention camp, flown to the Assam border, blindfolded, and pushed across the Bangladeshi border late at night.
After wandering helpless, sick, and without funds, she was sheltered eight days ago on humanitarian grounds by Abul Bashar, a resident of Bhadiali village in Kalaroa upazila.
"I have not committed any crime. My little son is waiting for me," a tearful Shahida said, appealing for urgent administrative help to return to her family.
Local union parishad representatives confirmed her Indian citizenship and called for immediate medical assistance and repatriation.
Shah Alam, Company Commander of the BGB's Madra BOP camp, said a formal letter has been sent to the Border Security Force (BSF) to take her back, though a response is still pending.
