Mukter Hossain, Godagari (Rajshahi)

Locals formed a human chain on the highway in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday, demanding the prompt arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the mysterious death of a youth named Sabedul, 33.

The protest was organized under the banner of "Shetchon Nagorik Samaj" (Conscious Citizens Society) at Rajabari Hat, drawing participation from people across all strata of society under the chairmanship of prominent social worker Abdur Rouf.

The demonstration took place at 10:00 AM on Sunda.

Presided over by Abdur Rouf and conducted by student leader Bedaruddin Bidyut, the human chain featured speeches from prominent social worker Rafiqul Islam Pearul, former student leader and social worker Nasiruddin Babu, Godagari Citizen Interest Preservation Committee President Advocate Salahuddin Biswas, Deopara UP Member Abdul Baki, former UP member Mahbubur Rahman, Al Amin, social worker Rabiul Islam Tuhin, and social worker Abu Musa Kram. The victim's parents, Kamal Hossain and Abida Begum, attended the event to express their solidarity.

Addressing the program, speakers expressed deep anger, asserting that Sabedul was deliberately and methodically murdered rather than having suffered an ordinary death or accident. They demanded a fair and impartial investigation to uncover the core mystery behind the killing, immediate arrest of all suspects, and exemplary punishment through the legal system, warning of stricter protests in the future if their demands are ignored.

With tearful voices, the victim's parents said that they want capital punishment and true justice for those who brutally killed their innocent son, fervently appealing to the administration not to spare the culprits behind their heartbreaking loss for even a single day.
